Although the J Geils Band was created in 1967, it wasn't until the 1980's that they implemented a pop influence and struck gold with these hit songs:  "Love Stinks", "Freeze Frame" and the massive hit "Centerfold" which was at the top of the charts for many weeks back in 1981.

Funnyman Bill Engvall has been making audiences laugh all around the country as a solo stand-up comedian act and with his friends on the Blue Collar Comedy Tour. He won the American Comedy Award for Comic of the Year in 1992 and has been making people laugh ever since. He has recorded 8 country comedy albums, with his first one “Here’s Your Sign” certified platinum. His second album “Dorkfish” achieved a certified gold status. His talents also include writing and acting in his own television show that airs on TBS. He is currently on tour promoting his latest comedy album “Aged and Confused.”

Did you know that Babyface is Kenneth Brian "Babyface" Edmonds?  Babyface is an R&B and pop singer, songwriter, guitarist, keyboardist, record producer, film producer, and entrepreneur.  Kenneth Babyface Edmonds was born on April 10, 1959, in Indianapolis, Indiana to Marvin and Barbara Edmonds. Barbara was a pharmaceutical plant manager. Edmonds, who is the fifth of six brothers (which also included future After 7 bandmembers Melvin and Kevon Edmonds, the latter of whom later had a modestly successful solo career), attended North Central High School in Indianapolis, Indiana and as a shy youth, wrote songs to express his emotions.When he was in eighth grade, Edmonds's father died of lung cancer, leaving his mother to raise her sons alone. Stone Temple Pilots, AKA STP, made up of Scott Weiland (lead vocals), brothers Robert DeLeo (bass guitar, vocals) and Dean DeLeo (guitar), and Eric Kretz (drums, percussion).  The band found immediate success with the release of their debut album Core in 1992, which is certified 8× platinum by the RIAA.STP went on to become one of the most commercially successful rock bands of the 1990s, selling nearly 40 million records worldwide, including 17.5 million units in the United States. The band has had 16 top ten singles on the Billboard rock charts, seven of which peaked at #1, and one #1 album for Purple in 1994. That same year, the band won a Grammy for "Best Hard Rock Performance" for the song "Plush" from the album Core.Stone Temple Pilots were also ranked #40 on VH1's The 100 Greatest Artists of Hard Rock.  Weiland's continual drug offenses caused multiple concert cancellations and band separations. These setbacks resulted in the creation of various alternate bands by each of the band members (see The Magnificent Bastards, Talk Show, Army of Anyone, Velvet Revolver) and two solo albums by Weiland. Kretz would go on to launch Bomb Shelter Studios in Los Angeles.The band's separation in 2003 lasted five years. Melissa Etheridge (the modern day Janis Joplin) will be rocking out in Atlantic City. This fearlessly talented female musician, known for such hits as "Come to My Window," "I'm the Only One," "Breathe," "The Weakness in Me," and many other countless musical masterpieces, has made her mark in the world of rock from 1988 to the present day. Born in Leavenworth, Kansas, Etheridge received her first guitar at age 8, and wrote her first song at age 10. She left the comforts of her small mid-western life to pursue her love for music and make it her life's work. Her journeys have also included activism, advocacy for gay rights, lesbianism, love, desire, pain, heartbreak, cancer, and a fearless will to recover and live on.
